National Hospital Week
This year, National Hospital Week celebrates hope and healing, and the hospitals, health systems, and the women and men who support the health and well-being of their communities through dedication and care from the heart. Celebrating National Hospital Week provides an opportunity to thank all of the dedicated individuals – physicians, nurses, therapists, engineers, food service workers, volunteers, administrators and so many more – for their contributions.
For more than a century, hospitals have played a central role in our nation’s healthcare system, serving as a key community anchor institution caring for and connecting millions of people across the country. Today, hospitals are an economic mainstay supporting 16.5 million jobs across the country.
During National Hospital Week, the American Hospital Association is conducting a social media campaign to raise awareness of the importance of hospitals and health systems within our communities. They are asking members to join in this effort to help celebrate the great work that goes on every day in America’s hospitals. In particular, they are asking members to explain through social media why their hospitals are important to the communities they serve.
The AHA also encourages all advocates and supporters of hospitals to change their social media profile pictures to the recognizable “H” for Hospital during this week. Click here to download the logo from the National Hospital Week website.
