Caregivers can find themselves taking on so many responsibilities that they may neglect taking good care of themselves. The best thing caregivers can do for the ones they look after is to maintain physical and emotional strength. If you are a caregiver, start off 2019 with these self-care tips:
Visit the doctor
Take care of your own physical needs and visit your physician at least once a year. Do not ignore any symptoms such as sleeplessness, stress, or changes in appetite.
Find the time whenever you can to move your body for 30 minutes at least 5 days per week.
Eating a heart-healthy diet can improve your overall health. Focus less on red meats and more on whole grains, vegetables, fruits, and nuts.
Enjoy “me time”
Find something that you love to do on your time off, and enjoy!
